American Cancer Society Update The American Cancer Society got of to a good kick start at it’s local bunko party at the Grange November 7th. There was good food ( prepared by Bernie Wooden) lots of fun playing bunko along with a silent auction at the end of the evening. There will be another bunko in the spring of the year, so watch the website and watch your e-mail from Sheryl, Wanda or Myself (Mel) for information on the next event. Also, in the next block down, there is in formation on Christmas wreath and centerpieces for the holiday. All the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. You can help your local cancer society chapter meet their goal for this next year by ordering from Sheryl or Wanda. The bunko and silent auction raised a whopping !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $501.00

2012 Oregon State Grange Convention

Your recipes Wanted The Beaver Homes Grange is in the process of compiling a recipe book that will be produced and sold for the needed income to run the grange. We are asking members and friends of members to submit their favorite recipes in various categories. Please look through your favorites and write them down. Send them to Margaret Brady 71184 Neer City Rd Rainier Or 97048 or type them in Microsoft word and forward them to marmel@cni.net Along with the recipes we would like to know something about you such as your name of course, as well as a little information. What your hobbies are, how long you have lived in the area, how long you have been a Grange member or if there are organizations you attend and want to mention. Also write a little about the recipe. For instance where it came from? Why is it a special recipe that you want to share? Are there memories attached to this recipe that make it a favorite? Etc The final book will look something like this. It will be bound in a notebook with the picture of the Grange on the front and on the back a membership group photo. Each person contributing will have a little write up and photo. The font will be large and usually one recipe per page though short recipes can have two to a page. Each year we hope to sell supplements of new recipes so that your recipe book can expand each year. The price of the book will be confirmed later but we promise that it will be less than most recipe books and a whole lot more fun. Please help by sending all the info either by mail or e-mail to the address above addresses. Thank You |

Country Insurance American Cancer Society Team
We are starting to make up our walking list and I need to know if you could walk for Country's Insurance team. Half hour segments - Wanda is making chart now - so if you can walk - let her know when or e-mail me and I will let her know. Also if you want a t-Shirt - we need your size. Relay will not let us buy shirts from them so we are going to have a Country Team shirt this year. Thanks to all of you who walk for us. We appreciate your efforts and look forward to another great event. Event is July 24th 10:00 A.M. to July 25th 10:00 A.M. We walk for 24 hours and need walkers for ALL 24 hours.
